Chapter 8 - The Confrontation

I tossed copies of the wire transfers down the table. The board members picked them up, their expressions shifting from confusion to sheer horror.

"What is this?" the CFO demanded.

"That is proof of international wire fraud, embezzlement, and grand larceny," I said loudly. "Arthur Vance stole fourteen million dollars from the Sterling family in 1987 to start this company. He hid it in shell accounts in the Caymans."

Arthur’s face turned a violent shade of purple. "This is a fabrication! Security, remove him!"

"Security isn't coming, Arthur," I said, checking my watch. "But the FBI is."

Right on cue, the glass doors of the boardroom swung open. Four federal agents in dark suits walked in, flashing their badges.

"Arthur Vance?" the lead agent said. "We have a warrant for your arrest."

My father stood up, trembling with rage. He looked at me, pure venom in his eyes. "You're destroying your own legacy, Julian! You're ruining our name!"

"No," I replied calmly. "I'm finally cleaning it."
