Chapter 8 - The Fall of the House of Sterling

What followed was not a war. It was an execution.

Dante’s retaliation was systematic, ruthless, and terrifyingly swift. Over the next forty-eight hours, the Sterling empire was dismantled piece by piece.

At 2:00 AM on a Tuesday, Dante’s enforcers firebombed the three underground casinos Julian used to launder his money.

At 5:00 AM, a dossier containing fifty pages of Senator Sterling’s bribes, illegal wiretaps, and connections to human trafficking rings found its way onto the desk of every major federal prosecutor in New England.

By Wednesday afternoon, the Senator’s political donors had vanished, his bank accounts were frozen by the feds, and his Irish mob protectors had abandoned him to save themselves from Dante’s wrath.

Julian Sterling was on the run.

But no one ran from the Devil in his own city.

Dante’s men cornered Julian at a private airfield in Connecticut, trying to board a charter flight to the Cayman Islands. They didn't shoot him. They bagged him, threw him in the trunk of a car, and drove him back to Boston.

Back at the compound, Aria stood by the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, watching the rain fall. She knew what Dante was doing. She knew what was happening to her brother.

Sienna stood a few paces behind her. "Are you alright, Boss?"

It was the first time Sienna had called her that. Aria turned, a serene, chilling smile on her face.

"I have never been better, Sienna. Tell Enzo to prep the car. I want to be there when Dante finishes it."
