Chapter 7 - The Boardroom Massacre

The next morning, the boardroom was packed. The atmosphere was thick with tension. News of Victoria and Richard’s late-night arrest had leaked to the press, and the shareholders were in an absolute panic.

I walked into the room, flanked by Alexander and Harrison. I took my father’s seat at the head of the long mahogany table.

“Ladies and gentlemen,” I began, projecting my voice over the frantic murmuring. “Please take your seats.”

An older board member, Arthur Vance, slammed his hand on the table. “This is a disaster! The stock is already taking a hit in pre-market trading! The CEO is in a jail cell! We are voting to liquidate immediately!”

“There will be no liquidation,” Alexander said, stepping forward. He projected a financial dossier onto the massive screen behind us.

“My name is Alexander. I am the true firstborn of the founder of this company. What you are looking at is the forensic audit of Richard and Victoria’s offshore accounts. Yes, they stole from you. Yes, they have been arrested.”

The room erupted in shouts.

“Quiet!” I commanded, slamming my palm on the table. The sharp sound silenced the room.

“They stole from you,” I continued. “But my father suspected it. Two months before he died, he initiated a silent clawback protocol. Harrison, explain.”

Harrison stood up. “The trust your late founder established was deeply integrated with the corporate bylaws. Victoria believed she was moving funds to secure offshore accounts. In reality, she was funneling them into a honey-pot account entirely controlled by the estate’s executor.”

I looked at the stunned faces of the board. “The money isn't gone. It’s sitting in escrow. Every single dime they embezzled has been recovered. Furthermore, we have successfully severed all legal ties between Richard’s fraudulent LLC and this company.”

The panic in the room slowly shifted into shock, and then into profound relief.

“I am formally putting forth a motion to permanently remove Victoria and Richard from the board, strip them of all shares due to criminal misconduct, and appoint Alexander as the new Chief Operating Officer,” I announced.

The vote was unanimous.
