THE GARDENER’S REVENGE: THE ESTATE OF SILENCE - Part 2

🥀 THE GARDENER’S REVENGE: THE ESTATE OF SILENCE

The young master, Julian, felt the blood drain from his face, leaving him looking like a ghost in his own sanctuary. His hands, which had been raised to strike just moments ago, now trembled violently at his sides. The bride, Clara, had stepped back so quickly that her designer heels snapped on the marble floor, forcing her to grab the edge of a mahogany table for balance.

The old man, Arthur, stood tall. The hunched posture he had perfected over the last three years of "gardening" had completely evaporated. He looked at the lawyer, who handed him a leather-bound folder. Arthur didn’t even open it; he already knew every word inside.

"You spent three years playing the role of a beggar," the lawyer stated, his voice ringing out clearly for all the guests to hear. "You watched from the bushes as they squandered the estate’s funds, liquidated the family’s art collection, and treated your staff like refuse. You waited for the final signatures on their fraudulent ‘inheritance’ documents."

Arthur stepped forward. Each step sounded like a gavel striking a judge's bench.

"I didn't watch because I was weak," Arthur said, his voice cold as liquid nitrogen. "I watched because I needed to know who would remain loyal when the gold ran out, and who would show their true, rotting colors. Julian, Clara—you didn't just break my roses. You broke the trust of this family."

Julian tried to find his voice, his arrogance replaced by a frantic, high-pitched desperation. "Arthur! Please! It was... it was just a misunderstanding! We thought you were dead! The lawyers said the estate was abandoned! We were just... just managing it!"

Arthur let out a sharp, joyless laugh that echoed against the vaulted ceilings. He signaled to the security team. "Managing it? You’ve been liquidating the foundation of a legacy you never earned. By the terms of the original deed, any heir who engages in malice toward the staff or fraudulent mismanagement is stripped of all rights, effective immediately."

As the security team began to escort the terrified couple toward the massive doors, the lawyer turned back to the guests. "This is no longer a wedding. It is an eviction."

The bride collapsed in a heap of silk and tears, screaming curses that were quickly silenced by the firm grip of the guards. But just as Julian reached the door, he turned back, his eyes burning with a sudden, dark realization.

"You think you’ve won, Arthur?" Julian hissed, his face twisted. "You’ve spent three years in the dirt, but you’ve been blind. While you were playing gardener, someone else was moving the money out of the country. Check the offshore accounts, Arthur. You own the house, but the bank owns your empire."

Arthur went still. The lawyer paled. They rushed to the nearest terminal in the study, and as the screen flickered to life, the balance flashed in red: $0.00.
