Part 2: The entire hotel lobby froze the second the champagne hit her face.

Part 2: The entire hotel lobby froze the second the champagne hit her face.

In the middle of the charity gala, under chandeliers and camera flashes, the glamorous rich woman stood shaking with rage.

“You really thought you could walk into my engagement party after what you did?!”

Guests gasped. Music seemed to die. Phones rose from every direction.

The poor woman stood there soaked, humiliated, trembling so badly she could barely breathe.

Then the rich woman pointed at her in front of everyone and screamed,

“Tell them how much you were paid to disappear!”

A stunned murmur spread through the crowd.

The poor woman tried to speak, but before a word came out, her wet clutch slipped from her hand.

A sealed envelope slid across the marble floor…

straight to the groom’s shoes.

He bent down, picked it up, and opened it.

The moment he saw what was inside, all the color drained from his face.

The rich woman stepped closer, suddenly afraid.

“What is that?” she whispered.

He looked at her in horror and said,

“A DNA test… dated before I met you.”

The whole gala stopped breathing.

The poor woman closed her eyes as tears mixed with champagne on her face.

Then, in a broken voice, she said,

“I didn’t come here to ruin your night.”

She swallowed hard.

“I came because our son is dying… and you’re the only match.”

Three years earlier, she and the groom had been together in secret.

When she found out she was pregnant, someone from his wealthy family paid her to disappear before he ever learned the truth.

She left with nothing.

No wedding.
